Strengthening Maritime Dominance

The commissioning of INS Surat, INS Nilgiri, and INS Vaghsheer marks a pivotal moment in India’s maritime and defense capabilities

INS Surat, a P15B Guided Missile Destroyer, is one of the largest and most sophisticated destroyers globally, featuring 75% indigenous content and cutting-edge technologies.

INS Nilgiri, the first stealth frigate of the P17A project, exemplifies India’s advanced warship design with state-of-the-art stealth and survivability capabilities.

INS Vaghsheer, the sixth Scorpene-class submarine of the P75 project, highlights India’s growing expertise in submarine construction in collaboration with France’s Naval Group.

These commissions reinforce India’s vision of becoming a global leader in defense manufacturing and maritime security.

In the afternoon, PM Modi will inaugurate the Sri Sri Radha Madanmohanji Temple, a grand ISKCON project in Navi Mumbai. Spanning nine acres, this architectural marvel houses deities, a Vedic education center, proposed museums, an auditorium, and a healing center. It aims to foster universal peace, harmony, and brotherhood through Vedic teachings.
